If you live near the Carteret Waterfront or along Carteret Avenue you must act now to save your neighborhood from the Borough’s overly ambitious waterfront development plan that will destroy the character of our neighborhood. We must convince the mayor and council and the state legislators who are funding the development that cutting a commuter highway through residential neighborhoods is a bad idea.
Here is what you can do.
Contact the office of Mayor Dan Reiman and tell him you do not support his massive waterfront redevelopment plan that will destroy our neighborhood and endanger our children Email the Mayor at: mayor@carteret.net or call 732-541-3801.
Contact the Borough Council members and tell them to stand up for you and against the Carteret Avenue extension and the routing of commuter traffic through our neighborhood? You can email the borough at info@carteret.net

Contact your state representatives and tell them to save our neighborhood. Most of the money for the Mayor’s waterfront plan is coming from state taxpayers, like you. Write to your state lawmakers and tell them to de-fund the Carteret Avenue Extension plan.
Contact Senator Joseph Vitale, Assemblyman Craig Coughlin and Assemblywoman Yvonne Lopex at NJ Legislature.
Contact the Middlesex County Board of Commissioners (formerly freeholders) ask them to stop the extension of Carteret Avenue
